Welcome to Rune Keeper’s Library – a two-shelf library of honest, spoiler-light fantasy reviews. One shelf for grown-ups, one for younger readers, and a librarian who loves them both.

I’m Jessica, the reader and reviewer behind these shelves. Reading has been a daily part of my life since middle school, and this blog is where I share the fantasy worlds I can’t stop thinking about – the ones that wreck me at 2 a.m. and the ones that turned me into a reader in the first place.

Two shelves, one library

  • The Grown-Up Shelf – adult fantasy and romantasy: fae courts, enemies-to-lovers, slow burns, and morally gray love interests. Every adult review carries a 0-5 spice rating so you know exactly what you’re picking up.
  • The Young Readers’ Shelf – middle-grade fantasy and adventure (think Magic Tree House and beyond): the magical, quest-filled stories that turn kids into lifelong readers. Always reviewed clean, with age-suitability notes for parents.
  • A little YA fantasy bridges the two, plus the occasional historical read.

What you’ll find

  • Honest, spoiler-light reviews – what worked, who it’s for, and when to skip it.
  • Clear labels so you land on the right shelf: spice ratings on adult titles, age and content notes on middle-grade.
  • Tropes, comp titles, and “read this if you like…” recs.
  • New releases and advance-copy reactions (I review ARCs through NetGalley).

My promise

Every review is my honest opinion. I’d rather you trust my recommendations than agree with all of them.

Let’s be book friends
